Holy fuck I hate this, I agree people shouldn't do this shit once they're no longer college age. Gender is completely irrelevant, people should absolutely not do this to other people.

Had the same thing happen to me once, except that it was two dates with shitloads of texting over 3 months. This was partly due to work since I travel a lot and she was an EMT, so it didn't seem like a big deal to me. Started to bother me though when she agreed to go out for a nice evening but then she kept dodging any attempt to make plans, she wouldn't tell me her work schedule so I had to keep asking the open-ended "When do you wanna go?" After a month I got sick of it, asked her point-blank and she went silent.

Then three weeks later she texts me telling me how she just got drugged while she was out with friends and woke up in the back of some random car in a parking lot she didn't recognize. The fuck?

This was basically reaching out for more emotional support after the "I'm-just-going-to-go-silent-and-not-tell-you-you're-dumped" move. Asked her if she needed help, she said no her friends were coming to pick her up. Asked if she wanted me to check on her dog, she said no her mom took care of it. I even offered to get my doctor to see her (no questions asked, just call them and they'll take you in), since she worked at the ER and didn't want her coworkers to know what happened and had nowhere else she could go. She said nope she was fine.

Then I realized that I was only getting a part of the real story and it was just a mix of lie and half-truth, and that she just wanted emotional support from me because I was the "safe" guy. Fuck people who do this to other people, but glad I got out.

Be glad you're out of it, you dodged a bullet, don't look back.
