Guys who have dated older woman? How big was the age difference and did it work out?

When I was 25, I dated a 34 year old. We were both into the same stuff which is probably how the relationship got started. That and I hadn't dated in 6 years because I was busy with my academics and I figured I need to be open-minded.

It didn't turn out well for a number of reasons but I think the two most obvious reasons were that she came from privilege and legit looked down on people, and we were sorta in different places in our life.

She tried to change so many things about me because I guess to some degree (or at least how I viewed it) she felt that I was 'lower class'. She spent so much time criticizing me and trying to change me for having what they call a "scarcity mindset": AKA the poor person mentality. She looked down on my parents and drove a wedge between me and them. Told me I needed to demand the money back from my parents when I used to help them with mortgages and bills. She also said I should cut them out of my life if I don't get my money back.

She also didn't seem to fully understand what it was like for me to put myself through college and how I ended up skipping meals or eating small bars for meals because I needed to pay for books, tuition, and whatever else. She kept telling me I needed to spend money to make money and that I shouldn't eat cheap food because it's not nourishing. She also threw a slew of "entrepreneurial" tropes at me and it was super annoying.

The other one was that I simply wasn't at the same place in life as her. She seemed like she was ready to settle down and would always ask me where we see each other in the near future. Her biological clock was ticking so to speak and the prospect of needing to get property and have kids was simply not a reality for me at the time.

Needless to say, it didn't work out and I'm glad it didn't. It lasted maybe 3 months but felt like half a year. I see you've lasted a year here which is awesome, but you really do gotta have a sit down with her and see if you guys are on the same page regarding life.

Best of luck!
