Hey Veterans, can you help my dad get Hep C treatment and save his life?

Hey thank you. My dad got the Meds he needed and is virus free now. It's been such a surreal, difficult, and resolving time in my life this last year. Months ago when I had called Bob, secretary of the VA, and he had contacted Honolulu VA to get their asses moving it all came to a head within about two weeks. My dad gives me a call while at the pharmacy to thank me for all the fighting I did on his behalf. Then my godfather, his captain in Vietnam, silver star recipient, and all around amazing badass uncle calls me and thanks me too. Anyways my dad calls me on Monday and tells me godfather Phil passed away from hemoglobin complications. I'm just glad my dad is doing well and my godfather got to see that he was taken care of before he passed. He was like the father my dad never had. So amazing to see the love these warriors have for each other and proud that I can try and be apart of that. If anyone is having difficulty with getting treatment please keep talking with us. I found the most important thing is go up the chain-of-command and called secretary Bob first, then send your medical records to anyone that needs them like a second opinion from a MD, DO, or specialist (in GI like a hepatologist) outside the VA. Thirdly I can point you to some articles from Hepatology magazine, a peer reviewed medical journal on evidence based practices for hep c treatment. This last part is a big one because being in the medical field I know it is the basic international laws that govern medicine, at the federal and international level that physicians must practice evidence based medical care for their patients. It's exactly why they do research, submit findings for review, and publish them for professionals and the public.
