How has being an introvert shaped your musical tastes?

I noticed the albums I like (or now love) best, usually sat around on my computer and took years of listening, to finally creep up on me and have the effect that it does on me now. That timeline would look something like: Struggling to appreciate ---> Became good "background music" ---> Life favorite

If not for being an introvert, I wouldn't have such a wide range of genre interests or appreciation (at least I think I do). I tend to listen to shoegaze, dreampop, ambient, jazz, indie, punk, etc. but I stray far from it as well in smaller doses.

When I was more social with people, my music tastes were less eccentric, and as I've dug deeper into the music world, like you, people would probably find my taste odd at first listen, but maybe intriguing. It's not really the stuff you can become a fan of overnight. I've also gone through about every phase of music there is, at least in terms of main and major genres.

Some artists I currently enjoy are: Yo La Tengo, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Arthur Russell, Brian Eno. Hollar if you're a fan!
