Like I said, if you actually made a stand and tried to steal her away from her boyfriend it might have worked. But you had to be confident. Certain. It's scary to choose the unknown over something familiar and if you aren't certain about it, then why should she be?

I don't know how to answer your question. It sounds like a complicated situation. I think you need decide what you want though. Are you okay only ever being friends? Never being more? If so then sure, keep it as is. But if you actually want more, then go after it and don't be afraid of losing what you have now in pursuit of something better.

Different things work for different people. I like knowing exactly where I stand even if it means potentially throwing away some opportunities.
