I'm Asian, My coworkers are assholes

Have you ever been to Asia? In less worldly areas, white people are tourist attractions. The levels of casual racism are about as common as breathing air, serious discriminatory racism slightly less so, but its definitely there. Seriously for the past decade if you were a white guy and able to wear a suit and tie. Chinese companies would hire you, no bullshit, to stand around and look white, because it added a level of legitimacy to their business they thought. You can STILL find companies willing to do this. This whole idea that race is front and center only in the U.S. is ridiculous, let me tell you, its front and center across the entire world. People are visual creatures, your color will define you to like 80%+ of the people you meet, because frankly they dont give a shit about you.

I work at a Japanese-American company who is a major supplier of one of the largest Japanese companies on earth. (If you live in the United States you see our products multiple times a day no matter who you are or what you do) Japan is a first world country and quite "global" in its world views. I've walked into corporate meetings where outrageous deals are being struck and each company involved sent their white people regardless of actual job in their own company to hammer it out. Can you say WTF? because it is.

I can empathize greatly with people who are discriminated against because of their race. I've experienced it first hand. It sucks. But racism is a human problem, not one just one "race's" problem. Its going to take all of us to fix it, not just shoving the burden off onto one color of people while all the others turn a blind eye.
