Why I'm not a fan of churches.

That isnt anything wrong with not being perfect. I was just stating a fact. No human is perfect. I didn't mean to imply that being Christian made you perfect because it doesn't. Hopefully most Christians aren't just helping other Christians. That would be stupid. Sadly, I know some do only do that.

My apologies, I was meaning for that to be more of a rhetorical question, as it deals with the philosophical idea of perfection, so it was more of a question to get one to think.

Now, for the rest of that. The idea is that God wants us to live with Him in heaven, a perfect place. If imperfection is allowed in a perfect place, it ceases to be a perfect place. There were only two ways for God to make humans perfect. Take away out free will so we'd all be perfect little robot people. Or tell us how to pass out sins on to animals (through sacrifice, since animals don't have souls), so our souls would be perfect when we died. God sent Jesus to sacrifice Himself to take all our sins so we wouldn't need to sacrifice animals anymore.

A couple questions if you don't mind...

Why do we have to live in Heaven? Why cannot God manifest himself on earth and rule over Earth? Why do we humans have to die at all? If you are saying that being little robot people is bad, we are little robot people in Heaven, so how would that really be enjoyable?

I do understand where you are coming fron though. I realize a lot of this stuff sounds ridiculous and I can definitely understand why people see this as laughable. Especially since "souls" are a purely faith based concept. There is no scientific basis for or against souls existence. I personally like when people point out things that don't make sense, because it forces me to think critically about my faith.

Not so much ridiculous (as I don't believe it deserves to be ridiculed), more along the lines of naive or idealistic, to live ones life based purely on faith of a next life just seems really really risky to me, I would rather be as good as I can be and not worry about what happens after I die, as none of us truly know what happens at the end of our natural lives.
