KKK members stab counter protesters with confederate flagpole. [Warning: Contains Gore]

i have to wonder something...why did occupy democrats leave out part of what happened from the LA Times article they linked in their own article?

http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-klan-rally-in-anaheim-erupts-in-violence-one-man-stabbed-20160227-story.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

that's the article they linked. the article says that 'violence erupted' and protesters were kicking one of the klansmen, then later two protestors (and a third individual who hasn't been identified) were stabbed.

i'm not defending the klan here, for the record.

what i'm wondering is, why is this framed differently by two different outlets? the occupy democrats article frames it as the klan starting the attack and then stabbing people with a claim of self defense. the la times article frames it as violence happening, protestors being seen kicking a klan member, and then the stabbing happening.

there's also a quote in the la times article from a director of a center for the study of hate and extremism:

Brian Levin, director of CSU San Bernardino's Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, said he was standing next to the man in the Grand Dragon shirt when a crowd of protesters carrying weapons swarmed the Klansmen.

the only reason i'm bringing this up is because both the article and the OP have used this as some evidence of eminent dystopia, framing it as the klan just stabbing people freely with no reasoning other than being klan.

which, again, KLAN BAD. fuck the klan and anyone who supports them. stating this again because i was already accused of being a racist for wondering if it would be possible for zuckerberg to fire racists, while fully supporting the idea that the racists need to have some kind of punishment against them. so, again, I AM NOT SAYING ANY OF THIS IN SUPPORT OF THE KLAN.

what i'm saying is, is this really the dystopian "i told you" thing the OP and occupy democrats are making it out to be?

it seems, at least from the la times article, that whatever happened was in fact a reaction to protestors starting the violence. the klan wasn't just walking down the street, stabbing people.

and again, i think the klan is bad. fuck the klan. fuck all who support them. they probably deserved to be swarmed by protestors.

but i find it hard to take this event as evidence or proof of some trend. at least, no more than the recent biker gang brawl that resulted in people getting shot being evidence that biker gangs are about to go on violent killing sprees across america.
