JFK stopped short of provoking a nuclear war when Russia placed weapons in Cuba in response to our placing of weapons in Turkey.

Russia has been invaded by Napoleon and Germany twice within living memory, and is obviously not going to allow or tolerate the existence of hostile regimes along her borders.

Eastern Europe has absolutely nothing to do with us and our security. There are no illegal migrants from eastern Europe pouring across our borders, smuggling drugs, and committing crimes. We have people in our own country to take care of, and until we resolve our own problems, not a single penny should be spent on reckless overseas adventures.
