This is a restaurant, not a nursery.

That just gave me flashbacks to a place I worked when I was 18. This family with four kids came in all the time. They let the kids run wild, and there was a little boy of about 7/8 that did the same shit. He'd sit on the floor right in front of the pass from the kitchen and play with toys, sometimes cars. Multiple people stepped on the cars and fell. We'd drag him back to the table and explain to the parents that he absolutely could not play on the floor as it was a hazard. They'd comply for like five minutes.

Once I was walking to the back with a giant tray full of dirty dishes. I didn't see him on the floor, so I stumbled on his toys. I knew I was going to lose the tray, and I really didn't want to drop all that shit on top of a kid's head, no matter how annoying I found him. So I tipped the tray back towards myself and got covered in food and drinks and all the dishes smashed.

That was it. I literally lost it. I went over to the parents and said, "Get the fuck out, now. Put money on the table and leave. Do not ever come back." The dad got pissed, but clearly underestimated how fucking done I was with them. I told him they were rude and nasty and shitty parents since they didn't care their kid almost got injured or almost caused an injury to someone else. I also told them they were cheap as shit since they barely tipped, and they owed me babysitting money and were lucky I wasn't going to have them pay for the dishes.

The rest of the restaurant was watching with interest at this point (small place though, so only a few other tables) so they just got up and left. The guy told me I'd regret it. They called every day that week to ask for the owner (who was rarely there), and finally they got a hold of him. He said he saw it on the camera, and did they know how much his insurance would skyrocket if there was a serious injury at his restaurant? He was a total asshole, but you could always count on him when it came to things that might affect him financially.

They tried to come in like nothing happened a few months later. One of the other girls just said "Haha, nope" and pointed to the door.
