[S5E6] Why the outrage?

i think you make a decent point about the damage of murder vs rape, and im not trying to discredit the atrocity that is murder, but consider the fact that a life lived post-rape is a mere remnant of life before the event, and can often be extreme hell. it fucks the victim up. if a life of anguish is better than death though, that's subjective. you have to live with the memory of your rape. your PTSD, and your constant insecurity and fear of love. That's like torture and a lot of people would rather die than be tortured. Just food for thought.

Also, you're correct, feminism is about equality for both genders, but that doesn't mean we need to treat each wound with the same medicine, to put it metaphorically. Castration is clearly a wrong doing. Like murder. This is a no-brainer. Everyone understands that mutilating someone is gross and horrible. Nobody is discrediting that, but what people are discrediting is who it happened to. Quite Frankly Theon was a piece of absolute shit, and he got was he deserved in MANY people's eyes. He betrayed everyone. It was "comedic" to some because it was ironic. I hated theon but my stomach did churn during those moments of the story where he became Reek.

Sansa was innocent. She's literally just playing the cards she has to play to SURVIVE. she's purely a victim. Theon, arguably, deserved his fate. If you say she deserves to get raped because she agreed to marry Ramsay, I'm sorry but you are the reason that people are outcrying. Sex isn't earned or deserved. Its mutually agreed upon or else its rape. can you see the problem here? You, as well as lot of other people, are blaming Sansa for her own rape by saying she was CHOOSING to get married. You compare this with Theon's lack of choice to get castrated. She didnt CHOOSE to get raped. They're both victims of crimes, but society is blaming Sansa for her trauma and trying to sympathize with Theon for something he probably deserved.

And in regards of women vs men and society's outcries being inequal, its because like i posted elsewhere, people aren't regularly getting castrated. It isn't a "mans problem" in the world that we all grow up as gentlement to "watch out for" and it isn't a thing that ever happens but once in a million. Rape is not like that. Rape happens a lot. One day, society might need to focus on men and their issues, but that day is not today. I value men and women equally, but men don't have an epidemic right now -- women do. Women need our attention to stop and change rape culture. I challenge you to think of it like this... Family's love their kids equally, but it isn't okay for one child to throw a tantrum and get upset because he or she didn't get presents at the birthday party of the other child. Both kids have their special time of attention and focus, and both are appreciated equally, but at certain moments some require more specific attention, and it doesn't discredit the other. This is what its like to be a man in a world where we NEED to focus on women right now. We're not unequal, we're just not "having our birthday", or in non-metaphorical terms, we're just not fucking rape victims all over the world.
