Same-sex marriage is now legal in Republic of Ireland

If you want me to think you're an asshole, go right ahead.

That's not up to me, you yourself know the stereotypes the Internet likes to joke about, it's just how it is.

Yes, everyone who states their dislike of your profoundly confused joke is definitely deeply harmed by your words. You realize there are people in this world who say what they think without getting torn to shreds over it, right?

It's a JOKE. JOKE as in, it's only used for comedic effect and I don't mean it. Sense of humor.

Over here 150+ upvoted my joke

You can have an opinion and say what you want, but you decided to reply to a joke with a serious discussion. I wasn't trying to be PC, I was making a joke.

You'd be surprised by the number of people who think buttfucking immediately implies homosexuality and vice versa as though the two are synonymous.

Well, this was an obvious joke, go and have a serious discussion with people who actually think so without any sarcasm. Again, not the right post to reply to.

The criticism works, either take it, or pointlessly complain about it.

If everyone complained about a JOKE that works, humor would be dead. You'd be one of those people at a stand-up show that just say after every joke: "No, that's not correct, you see, Welsh people don't really fuck sheep and not all Asian people are smart" and so on. It was a joke, and not a serious opinion about homosexual behavior. Call me when I actually say gay people only marry to buttfuck.

Oh honey, if you had any idea how many popular/heavily upvoted homophobic jokes I've watched fall out of fashion over the years, you'd be chuckling like I am too. When you walk away from this argument, you'll feel all justified and happy you've won and then you'll forget about the whole thing. But, since I'm gay, I'll be keeping track of these sorts of things for the rest of my life. It will be satisfying to watch buttfucking jokes go the way of the "no homo".

Gay jokes existed since jokes existed. I've seen them since I first started reading jokes, and they were always the same. If you really think you won't be seeing jokes that put homosexuals in a supposed "bad light" even though they're only jokes and obviously not true, and if you're gonna criticize them even though they work, you should probably get off the Internet since every little thing like this is bound to offend you. It was a JOKE.
