impeachment wont change that

Exactly what Im talking about. They've already admitted defeat, and justified it. You also ignore the fact that it allows us to at least know the truth, through hearings. It also allows for some stand for the laws of the land. You really need to question what it means to allow the degradation of laws to continue. Lack of consequences is one think, complete abdication of responsibility, and kicking the buck down the road is another. Again, their job is not a popularity contest. The 2020 election is not guaranteed. Too many democrats are acting like we only have the remainder of Trump's term to worry about. He will be in office until January 2021, should he lose, and leave office. That's a lot of time.

Misplaced optimism, and ignoring the agressor's pattern is a sure path to future defeat. This is not something to wait out. It is the narrative the GOP is pushing onto the dems, and the left. It's working. People are too scared to hold Trump, and the GOP accountable, because they're worried about losing an election 8 months from now, that is most likely already compromised? That is the worst political strategy I have ever heard.
