Someone left plaques around Toronto that tell the slave-owning pasts of prominent historical families

This comment is buried but hopefully it'll have some visibility. At first I was going to comment on how slave owners aren't human traffickers, since they're getting the slaves, they're not stealing people or moving them across the ocean. Then I read up on it and receiving slaves and forcing them to work is actually part of human trafficking.

So I learned something to day and I really appreciate the comment, thank you!

Also I tend to be a conservative though the ones that gloss over history are more Republicans than conservatives. Slavery is an ugly mark on our history that we should be aware of to make sure it doesn't repeat itself. Way too many Republicans sugarcoat history, particularly slavery.
