Syrian woman ripping off her black robe after escaping from ISIS

I think you're being rude. You just want them to be like you because anything else makes you personally uncomfortable.

Wanting everyone to "adapt towards the norm" is what oppresses minorities everywhere. It makes them feel isolated and want to fight against the ones oppressing them.

If there is an actual abusive behaviour they're exhibiting towards others in their society (which includes within their own communities) then crack down on it. Otherwise you'll do a lot more towards having a happier society by accepting that not everyone has to look and act like you. Try and change bad behaviours, not just ones that make you feel weird.

I mean, in another comment you actually argue for why women can't go topless and that's totally okay. I mean, if they did they'd suffer shame and abuse! People could take pictures! Hmmm. Turns out your culture isn't so shiny and perfect after all. This is basically an exact analogy to how muslim women might feel wearing what you consider normal clothing. Can't you empathize at all? Or are they just those damn immigrants that are "a part of the problem"?
