In my experience, all of the major banks are shit when it comes to online banking. They exist to separate you from your money, not to provide you with a good banking experience. They are greedy leeches and will not be stopped by ethics or legality in trying to take your money. Bank of America even lost a major lawsuit some years ago that found that they had been purposefully scamming customers with fraudulent charges. Of course, like always, no executives went to jail for this malfeasance.

I closed my Bank of America account after they billed me an overdraft bill for reducing my debit account balance to exactly $0.00. (Not overdrafting). It took multiple phone calls and 2 hours on the phone to reverse the charge, and even then they still left an "interest" charge on the account for an interest payment that had accrued on top of the fraudulent charge they had billed me. I said fuck it and paid the interest charge and closed the account that week.

My Citibank account was just as bad. They told me that my account would not be subject to a minimum account balance charge (charge for not having enough money in the account) because I was a college student and they exempted college students from it. Some months later, I check my account and it has been accruing these charges all along. I call to get them to fix it and they reverse the charges and tell me everything is fixed. A few months later I check the account again and the charges have been happening again, even though they told me that I wouldn't be charged as long as I was a student. I said fuck it and closed the account.

Later, I moved to a local credit union and everything has been excellent. Their online banking is way easier and more convenient than either Citibank or BoA had ever been. I can move money between accounts instantly, instead of taking ~3 days like BoA used to take. There are no hidden charges, and no minimum account balance charge. I've been with them for years now and never been dissatisfied.
