There isn’t anything scientifically wrong with a white person dating a black person right?

Now that you know that your mother is (at best) ignorant (at worst: knowingly racist), you have to figure out how to thread this needle.

I'm sorry you are in this position, but you're not the first. A few tips...

Don't argue with your mother. If she brings up the subject, don't turn it into a debate. Don't engage. Just say "that opinion comes from ignorance, so I'm going to ignore it." Walk away if you have to, change the subject, whatever.

Follow your heart, but be upfront with your girl. If the relationship gets serious (more than a few dates), make sure she knows that your family is prejudiced and ignorant (but you aren't). You will want to hide it, but she deserves to know. Otherwise, your communication may become muddled by shame and avoidance.

Congrats on finding someone you really like. Those positive feelings are what life is all about, my friend. Don't let your family's ignorant worldview ruin that.
