Titanfall 2 has been out for a while now. How is the biggest concern, the playerbase, holding up? How is the rest of the game?

[First game of series] wasn't on console of choice [First game of series] tanks because of design choices and low player base Sequel to [First game of series] is everything that people who played [First game of series] wanted [First game of series] to be, on their console of choice People boycott all games that come after [First game of series], creating cyclical dwindling of interest

This is why we can't have nice things. This is partially why games are expensive to make, and are riddled with DLC. People on the internet boycotting entire IPs because of decisions made years ago lead to low sales numbers. Low sales numbers mean that studios can't get creative or innovative without exposing studio, IPs, and revenue to risk. People who can afford to invest in expensive game companies are risk-adverse and data-driven, and don't like when the people they're throwing money at suggest anything that hasn't been proven to make a lot of money.

I understand that people may be sad or mad that [First game of series] wasn't what they wanted; boycotting all games that come out from the same IP is a surefire way to make sure no dev studio:

  1. Takes creative risks, as people will boycott your attempt to fix those wrongs out of principle.
  2. Strays from the DLC-riddled path that most games trot down (since sequel to [First game of series] isn't charging for map DLC, a risky move)
