U.S. states seek $2.2 trillion from OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma: filings

Part of it is also American culture of medicating issues via prescription drugs it’s why so many kids are on ADD meds and anti-depressants (I’m not saying everyone on either doesn’t need them I’m saying that many times they’re over prescribed instead of therapy being given). I agree though that our mental health system is a complete joke and any attempts to fix it in this country have been laughable.

A great example of a failed program is NYCs ThriveNYC which was supposed to train people and get people in schools for mental health. It was run by our Mayor’s wife and has basically 0 to show for it after blowing through over a Billion Dollars.
