Your wife is upset for good reason. She cannot translate reality right now, and the feelings of betrayal she has will not immediately vanish when she's lucid again. It will be hard for her to comprehend how her mind has broken, it will take a long time for her to fully realize what's happened and she will live in fear of it happening again. She will have bad memories of the psych ward that she'll remember for the rest of her life. You clearly love your wife, so just be patient and supportive as you have been, and in time you'll be somewhere close to where you started again.
