What myth is still widely circulated as truth?

A lie by omission is defined by trying to decieve someone by omitting facts. The simple and normal behaviour of not stating all facts about everything all the time is not lying.

you never once in your conversation with me said anything that implied lies by omission were wrong, and that they were not lying.

i am perfectly willing to admit that while i try to be a truthful person, i am not 100% honest. you're the one who is trying to say that you're not a liar while being seemly fairly ok with lies by omission.

i've been reading other parts of the discussion now, and it seems like you say that lies by omission are "less bad" than lies. i disagree. you and i seem to have many philosophical differences, and we're not going to get anywhere.
