A women joined our weekly competitive indoor soccer tournament. Almost everybody didn't tackle her or try to stop her from shooting & it was really patronizing. She could clearly keep up with us. I was being judged by the other guys.

Try your all, completely agree but everyone needs to treat the women on a level playing field- officiating included. Keeping up is one thing, but for the most part women will be giving up a lot of size and strength.

I’ve essentially completely removed myself from co-ed soccer and it sucks. In college I was in a league, and the women were talented, but overly physical and looking to prove they were level. Early in the game I had a female crawling on my back while I shielded the ball and looked to check to my keeper; foul called on me. What happens next? She sees what she can get away with and increases physicality. Not long after, ball is played in the air and I, backpedaling/playing defense, look to clear/volley with my head. She boldly and physically went to play for a 90/10 ball, ate my body for which she was giving up probably 80 pounds (I hover around 200 lbs at 6’3). Woman completely bounces off me, eats the boards, and is out cold. Ambulance came and she went to the hospital. I was mortified and frightened I’d broken her neck. No one went after me and I voluntarily removed myself from the game, but what’s worse? They called a foul on me and told me to leave. I couldn’t take it, I was mortified and decided I wouldn’t play in the league anymore. What makes me madder than hell is I received a call 2 weeks later saying I was banned from playing. Not the only nasty injury I’ve seen from co-ed and it seems unbalanced compared to unisex.

tl;dr there is a major double standard when playing co-ed sports. Referees will often times “baby” the women, encouraging more physical, less clean play and someone, be them male or female, is inevitably going to get serious hurt because of it.
