The problem is that though national economic figures appear favorable they favor the 1% and corporations, not working class Americans who suffer from low wage or contract work with virtually no job security. Health care costs and debt buried in the facts also color these numbers. You have huge deficits that off-set “good economy” numbers and trade wars looming to hurt Americans, industry & agriculture in short order. The numbers must be tempered with these other realities to properly assess their meaning. The complexities allude most people as do the realities of the tax scam bill that hurt modest to low income families in favor of the uber wealthy.
