[WP] Humans discover that planets are sentient and that humanity itself is a biological weapon

"We're weapons..." Dr. Reynolds gasped under his breath. He felt a weakness in his legs a boulder alleviated. He buried his hands in his face and repeated the words.

"Well", Wyatt teased, "as much as crabs are, I guess, yeah." Wyatt slapped Dr. Reynolds on the back, leaking a small whimper from the man. "I mean, I wouldn't classify my last girlfriend as a WMD, but the chick was...friendly, you know? I guess its only fair."

Wyatt laughed again as he passed by Dr. Reynolds and moved to the computer embedded in the rock. He seemed to understand the machine, though the button pressing and thin nods was really only for show. The strange symbols and text that blipped on and off was as alien to either of them. But the voice that resounded in their heads as they entered the chamber had little impediment on that front.

"But...but..." Dr. Reynolds recited. He looked as though he were to pass out. "If this is true, then--"

"--We're like the voice said: an interstellar, intergalactic yeast infection. Well, for me, doc, I gotta say--that's the best news I ever damn heard!"

Wyatt laughed again, continuing to punish random buttons on the exotic console.

"Stop laughing! This...this is...are we?...bread, I mean. Or are we...as you...none of this makes sense!"

"Nah, doc. It makes perfect sense. Just gotta think about it."

Dr. Reynolds craned his neck at Wyatt, his eyes desperate for counsel.

"Planets are people. Or, well, you know, whatever a 'person' is to a thing like this bastard." Wyatt stomped the ground and smirked. "So, like all people think, it's better than everything else, 'us'; smarter, more capable, blah, blah, blah, so then it says we're essentially...cock-bugs because, well, cock-bugs aint people, right? By default, we're what he--it--suggests we are, because by default, it is what it is. You know? I think the dude, or whatever, is just arrogant."

Dr. Reynolds stares agape at Wyatt, then says,

"But what it said, what it showed us...it doesn't lie! Planet after planet, system after system--we are exactly as it suggests. What it means to live, to exist, it--this will change everything..."

"Well, then", Wyatt announced, facing Dr. Reynolds from the console. He then curled a fist, smacked his hand upon a oblong shaped button. Red and blaring sprang forth, forcing Dr. Reynolds to shield his ears. Wyatt spoke loudly, "I guess we'll just have to redefine it!"

Suddenly, an odd, unfamiliar language spoke from every direction. Dr. Reynolds cowered by his boulder, trying to understand what was transpiring.

"Oh, wow! This one was quick! Usually it's longer than this, man! Ha-ha! Gnarly, dude!"

"W-What? What is--do you know what's happening?!"

"Oh, yeah, man!" Wyatt yelled, a smile tattooed from cheek to cheek. "This aint my first time on this rodeo! But this is the biggest one, for sure, bro!"

"Wh-what?! How--Who-Who are you? Is this...why you led me here?!"

"Oh no, doc! I just thought I'd dig having a partner this go-'round! But, dude, we gotta get going!" Wyatt pointed up towards the stalactites. "When they start doing this, it means they go boom! Right? Just come here and grab hold!"

Dr. Reynolds found himself following Wyatt's orders despite his utter demand for fear and immobility.

"Oh, sorry about this bro! Part of the tech, man! Overcome the fear! Look! Like a video-game! Ha-ha!"

Dr. Reynolds grabbed a hold of Wyatt's shoulder, his movement staggered like a marionette.

"Yeah, doc! It works with atom to atom contact! I mean, this shit is wild, dude! It's gonna feel weird, but it's super-safe! Ready?! Yeah! One, two, three--"

And as the cave began to crumble in front of the two, in a shock of blue and yellow light, they disappeared. To where, Dr. Reynolds would deeply contemplate for the rest of his life. For his adventures had just begun.
