WTF Cox Internet!

Yeah what the fuck is this age of people "needing" 100+ mb/s,

Ill say this... 1080p videos on my end take a bit to buffer properly when everyone is on. Having more bandwidth would also make it more pleasant for me to manage the all of the data I have backedup on google drive.

In some situations people, or their family members have malware on their systems that eatup a ton of bandwidth. However, instead of adressing the problem at the source the kneejerk reaction is "the internet is too slow".

Something I've also noticed is that some devices such as Ipads/iphones in particular seem to hog a lot more than their "fair share" of that resource... which is something i've noticed with friends and relatives staying over at my house. Not sure what they do on those, but whatever it is it makes internet use impossible for others.

Past that issues like technological illiteracy are a problem when people dont properly manage their background processes and bandwidth allocations. Having say the blizzard launcher or google drive etc downloading at 10mb/s instead of setting them at 100k. Which again leads to that whole issue of a failure to adress root causes and quickly jumping on that "the internet is too slow." bandwagon.

All of that also makes it easier for companies to market their "even faster than before" services to people and try to secure new contracts with them. Which tbh... if one does not want to adress all of the root causes of why their network resources are not enough be it due to malware or some other thing then yes adding more bandwidth will temporarily provide relief.
