Young Democrats Prefer Bernie Sanders, New Poll Finds Many liberal millennials are feeling the Bern -- and burned by the American dream.

I don't get this whole "lazy millenials" thing. I realize my experience is anecdotal, but I've never seen a lazier, more disengaged and self-satisfied group of employees than the boomers I've worked with. Seriously. I put myself through college working 2 jobs, including an LLC I founded at 18... and I'm the laziest millenial I know.

I was brought in as an outside consultant to train a group of aging advertising designers. It was my responsibility to bring them up to speed on basic coding, flash/html5 advertising, and introductory video editing. My first day, the entire team of boomers called in sick out of protest (before they even met me). They wanted more pay to cover additional responsibilities, and had little to no interest learning new skills on the job (even though acquiring those skills anywhere else would have cost tens of thousands in secondary education.)

Ultimately, the company hired me (and a team of underpaid millenials) to handle the portion of their job that the Boomers refused to learn. We had software that calculated our productivity, and while each member of my digital team developed about 300 products over the course of a year, the print designers could only handle about 24 each. (Requiring my digital team to handle more of the print workload than their much larger team of boomers)

It wasn't even difficult understanding why. The older crowd had a horrible work ethic. They treated the office as a social club, spending hours milling around the coffee machine every day, and entire days in self-indulgent internal meetings.

After several years of this, it became clear that you could pay any millenial we brought in, less than half the money to get more than twice the work. Eventually, the older workers were laid off, and to a single one, decried it as ageism. It was disgraceful.
