Okay, first of all the specific study you refer to in this video is far too simple to make any significant conclusions yet. Also, the study it self was done in an entirely unreliable way.

and now we know where your bias comes from. you are not the norm but you want to think you are. theres nothing wrong with being different

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. It's absurd that just because I am a girl and experienced differently, my professional experience is disregarded. As I said, I have worked with children, and I have experienced something entirely different than that toys are clearly gender divided. There was however a clear mob mentality, that girls belong with girls and boys belong with boys, and you had to stay within what your group was currently into, and the statements they made about these divides were clearly picked up from adults or others.

We had children aged 6 months to 6 years. Up until they were 3-4 years old, there was virtually no difference in the toys they picked, and the mob mentality of girls/boys wasn't present. But as soon as they reached the "big kid" group, that changed. Within weeks from moving up a group the way they spoke and behaved had changed entirely, which to me seemed a strong indication that it absolutely is social. But EVEN with that divide in groups, there was still no obvious lack of interest in toys based on gender. It just varied, one day all the girls would be playing with one thing, and on another day all the boys would be playing with that thing.

If I had taken notes and timed the interactions, it would have been at least as reliable of an experiment as the one done by Baron Cohen.
