We lived in a less competitive district in the South Bay and sent our kids to Catholic high schools. The Jesuits are better than Holy Cross at maintaining a more balanced, whole person approach in my experience. We aren’t Christians, if that makes a difference for you. The downside is that kids come from all over the region to the Catholics so it’s harder for your children to make friends with the neighborhood kids. The upside is that the education was terrific without being as cutthroat as the schools I grew up attending in Saratoga. If you’re absolutely set on going public, I’d check out schools in the Campbell Union school district.
