All of these women openly hating on the "dad bod" got me thinking.

You seem to have deleted your comments but I put a lot of work into your shit response so I'm going to post it anyway.

that first thing you said makes the whole rest of the thing about statistics irrelevant

Statistics don't matter because I don't like people touching me or spilling their fat into a seat I paid for. Right, obviously that makes statistics irrelevant and you can just ignore the hard truth of the matter: fat people cost substantially more to take care of than average sized people.

sometimes you have to touch fat people and it grosses you out or something

You're right, it grosses everyone out. Fat people usually sweat more and smell worse than average people, but that's just anecdotal.

did you know that drinking rates in the US are at a 25-year-high?

No, why is this bad? People are regularly shamed for drinking and driving and no one praises alcoholism. Can you point to a single instance where the "hive-mind" of reddit has praised someone for drinking and driving?

did you know that over the next 15 years, the population over 65 is projected to increase by 101%, but the number of family members with the ability to take care of them will increase at a quarter that rate?

Yes, this is to be expected in countries with high standards of health care. Also this is all the more reason to stop obese people from soaking up a disproportionate amount of healthcare.

Did you know that alzheimer's rates are expected to double every 20 years?

Yeah, I'm a biochemist. I've done reports on alzheimer's. This is also to be expected in countries where people are living longer. It's not that a higher percentage of people are developing it, its that more people survive long enough to develop it.

Have you ever heard of septimecia? Did you know it's the 10th-leading cause of death among women and there are up to 3 million cases a year in the US?

Yes, but the average person will say no. Why? Because you're using the word septicemia and not saying "bacterial infection" or more, the more commonly used term "sepsis". Did you know that sepsis more common amongst men?

nobody on reddit actually gives a shit about public health issues, they just pretend to so they can have an excuse to talk shit about fat people

But now we come to the core of this issue, we're not talking about public health issues generally. We are talking about issues within a person's life that they are able to control. A person cannot (to varying degrees) control when they develop alzhiemers nor when they visit the hospital for a routine operation and contract a bacterial infection. We are talking about people who refuse to stop eating too much. They are killing themselves slowly with their choices and in the meantime they are being a burden to their family, friends, strangers, and society.
