Canada must do better to support soldiers suffering from PTSD

This is anecdotal but I personally know a lot of military guys and most of them have active PTSD claims. None of them except for one has ever spent any time overseas in combat. I know a guy that got a ptsd claim because he heard a troubling story from a friend that did go overseas. He got paid out $80,000. He told me that no doctor wants to look like a bad guy and tell someone they don't have ptsd. There are two genuinely admirable individuals of all the military guys I've met and the rest just lead me to believe that we are in fact taking care of them way too well. I know a reservist who served for four years and receives a pension as well as a flat $60,000 ptsd cash out! Never left the country and he laughs at how easy it was to get a diagnosis.

I know ptsd is real and there are vets that truly suffer but I've always been shocked hearing how much cash gets handed out to these guys. Everyone of them gets a personal veterans affairs case worker, free therapy, re-education, and loads of money every month, yet the only time I hear about in the media is that the government isn't doing enough.

I don't mean to be rude or ignore the real suffering out there but I really don't know what to think about this.
