Ah, I see now. This is about ego for you. You claim this is about love but you're clearly more interested in reinforcing this idea you have of yourself as someone who can "punch through illusions." You have done no such thing, by the way.

Everyone is interested in being truly understood, that's one of the basest desires of the ego, the problem is that not everyone can be truly understood, and to think otherwise is the height of arrogance--something you've now put in plain view.

You do not have the ability to understand everyone else. You have but one measly life experience in a range of possible life experiences that you cannot begin to comprehend. We did not "leave the law of the jungle behind," we're simply afforded the luxury of ignoring it by the current period of relative civilizational stability. But this stability is coming to end, as you correctly sense and fear.

There is a reckoning coming. The reality that your life has sheltered you from will be revealed, then you will see, and you will know. It will break you and leave you without a center. I only regret I won't be there to watch your mind unravel.
