I fucking hate pride/ pride month

I’m a straight woman that works as a software engineer. I am the only woman on my team of 35. So, although I hesitate to compare our lots in life, I feel like I might be able to offer some insight.

Unpopular opinion: I am not discriminated against, like at all. My (very large) company has all of these “initiatives” to help women in STEM, and blah, blah blah...Yeah. I’m gonna pass on all that. I’m totally fine. Thanks for trying to make me seem helpless, but I can handle myself just fine, thank you! I don’t need focus groups, or HR events, or whatever to feel like I’m an equal team member. I seriously feel like the company wants me to feel bad. No thanks!

I guess I’m just trying to say, don’t let those asshats bother you. Homosexual people are no different than anyone else. You get up, live your life, and go to bed at night next to a loved one. That’s it. It’s not a big deal. Don’t let them try to make you some sort of victim or someone that is so different, they need to be reminded of it daily. You do you!
