The harder you work, the quicker you learn why some people barely lift a finger

I used to work at Whole Foods and we got decent pay raises. I started at $9 and left at $12.75. The job I have now started at $10. After 2 years I was up to $10.77. Then they bumped up starting pay to $11. I make $11.22 now.

The person that decides my pay raises is someone that works 8-4 Monday through Friday and visits 4 stores in our district at her whim. We only have two holidays off. Christmas and thanksgiving. She was in high school when Kennedy was assassinated.

We’re under staffed by 6 people and it’s our fault that the shelves aren’t stocked to their fullest too. Last month we had to work 10 hour sundays.

Sometimes it’s one person jamming up everything. We have openings so you can move up but no one wants to because of one person. They don’t want to work for her.
