Epic store does NOT work with wine/proton. Without the store the games will not work. (Which is a point of contention in of itself) An epic developer/employee confirmed this on twitter. They claimed "epic store uses a web browser which is incompatible with wine and we are working on solutions to make it work on linux" (which sounds like bullshit)

I love how you use a strawman to dismiss the earlier strawman. You're basically saying anyone who does dislike epic, only does so because they want to preserve steam. Thats a strawman. No one hates epic or praises steam because they want steam to succeed and others to fail (yes, im sure there is atleast ONE person who believes that, but to try and claim everyone does?). Thats a strawman because no one is making that argument, youre making that argument for them and then use your made up argument as a method to bolster your dumb points.
