How I taped my glass door before the storm.

Bullshit. Unless you have some kind of case study to back this up, don't tell people to rely on anything that isn't proven when they are trying to protect themselves and their families from serious injury. That's irresponsible and reckless.

If you wrap your house in a few layers of plastic wrap in high winds, the first piece of debris that punctures it will provide an opening for the wind to inflate it. We're talking about powerful winds and huge surface areas. Even a 1/2 PSI wind pressure difference over 20 square feet is 1440 lbs of force. The wind will catch any opening or loose edges, inflate the area behind it, and rip it to shreds, possibly pulling siding down with it. Any streamers of plastic that are left clinging to the house will flap violently and pull hard on whatever it is attached to. You have zero chance of protecting anything, and a lot of opportunity to cause more damage. Some rain with minimal wind, sure it could help provide some waterproofing, but we're talking about hurricane force winds.

We kid about a lot of things on reddit, but some people are dumb enough to put their phones in the microwave, and in this case you don't want to give bad advice when it comes to keeping people safe.
