This is my parents to a T. NC with my mom but she had another when I was almost an adult. In our last year of contact she sent me a message about him being sad because, “no one plays with him.” It was supposed to be a guilt trip about how I don’t visit (she never even asked) with my 4 month old. Play with him then? She just wanted to play games and watch tv.

My dad is still the same as well. I’m slowly dropping contact. He used to come over every weekend to see my daughter and would just sit on my couch. Wouldn’t talk unless engaged. Doesn’t try to play despite being in his 40’s. Just sits there.

They used to just buy me toys as a kid and that was that.
