You are of course right, but it doesn't help that with a lot of "critisicm" (which often is really just cynicism) towards BotW it is often blatantly obvious that people have in fact, not played the game. The game isn't perfect, and there is legit criticism to be made, but I rarely see that by people "hating" on the game. It's almost always just absurd negativity, with no substance in the vein of "worst game ever fuck nintendo 0/10". Or often it's people who rushed through the story and claim "there's nothing to do". If you feel so, the game just might not be for you.

I have a long list of things that I think could be improved with the game, but I still love it very much. And almost every legit negative criticism I have seen on the game was by people who also enjoyed it a lot - and thus played enough of it to really judge. Many people also seem to write it off early after playing a little while and then critisizing it for stuff like the weapon system, which I personally can't take seriously. I'm sorry but this isn't a game you can fully grasp and judge after having played only 10 hours or so.
