LGBTQ+ community of Reddit, what’s the worse way someone’s reaacted to you coming out of the closet?

I got very lucky. I was dick growing up, I was one of them lads on the street wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie, smoking weed, getting arrested all the time and just your typical British Council estate delinquent, in other words, a chav.

So when I came out, it shocked literally everyone. But given my reputation, no one actually said anything bad to me and everyone who knew me or spoke to me treated me the same as before (Your bad reputation doesn't just disappear in an instant).

However, of all the people to be upset, the only person who wasn't understanding was this one Girl at College. I didn't realise it at the time, but he had a massive crush on me. It's obvious in hindsight with how close we were and how she acted and behaved around me, but because I wasn't looking at her in a sexual way, it never dawned on me she was clearly flirting. She got very angry and didn't speak to me for a few days, and was very distant with me for a few weeks. But eventually she got over it and we remained friends, but our friendship was never the same after and I definitely noticed she wasn't acting as the same person I had got used to her being around me anymore.
