LPT: Don’t buy a knife block with 8+ knives because it seems like value for money. They’ll be worse quality and you realistically only need 3.

I have this 8 piece Zwilling J.A. Henckels Pro block set, that retails for $400 as a Christmas Present 4-5 years ago. They are incredible German knives, and it's not even their top tier set.

A. This and most sets count the block, honing steel, and kitchen shears, so the 8 piece actually only comes with 5 knives with 8 knife slots, if you want add more, like a boning knife.

For me out of the 5 knives there is really only one that I would be okay with it not being included, but it allows me to save the big butchers knife for when I really need it, thus helping it stay extremely sharp without having to break out the whetstone. I'm confident that butchers knife is sharp and strong enough that it could behead someone with a powerful enough swing.

B. OP's LPT is very flawed, if should just be to make sure you know what you're buying instead of being suckered in by a price tag, which is true for everything.
