LPT: Instead of complimenting your kid how smart they are, compliment how hard they worked.

I had this experience myself. I have no idea if the person meant it that way but it came across like perhaps they didn't want to acknowledge that a woman could be talented at Math or something that is a male dominated field (because many men do feel this way and it does bother them if a woman is talented at it and even women will downplay/underestimate women's skill in male dominated areas) so it was easier for them to put it down in their mind that I had slaved/worked hard over it because when it's . But the truth is I don't know if that was their intention or not. I don't really blame them since with all these different studies coming out saying different things year after year what are people to think ?
