Meet 19 year old Ashli Blain, Chinook helicopter pilot fighting the wildfires in on the west coast.

You did good. So what your dad owned the flight school. Some people have more money than others. I mean come on this is America we live in an capitalistic oligarchy. I'm currently getting my instrument ticket. Took me 10 years of ridiculous hard work, terrible bosses and living in my truck to get here. I'm not mad that you had it easy to get set up for training. Flying is flippin hard. People will always be jealous but if they haven't gone through actual flight training they have no idea. Every time I see some spoiled kid flight training I realize either they will fail hard and bail out or they'll actually put the hard work in and become a pilot. You can't fake being a good pilot (as far as I know, would be curious to be proven wrong). So what you had more resources? If you want it you'll get it. Who knows it might even be more rewarding for those who struggled to even start. Either way we're all flying the same skies essentially working together. This chick is so young flying some extremely complex airframes. Anyone knocking her has absolutely no idea or is just upset at their own ambition. Good for her and good for you!
