I had been bullied to some degree most of my childhood. I was kind of on the edge of the 'cool crowd' In retrospect I really would have enjoyed life way more as the coolest uncool kid than the least cool cool kid... anyway, in grade 5 I was out a lunch sitting with the group, and this purple nurple fad was running pretty wild at school. I hadn't personally nurple'd anyone, but I had it done to me a few times. Well this one particular lunch I was held down and basically gang nurpled by 5 of the boys from the group while all the girls sat around laughing. Now, I wasn't a particularly large kid, in fact I'd say I was on the short side. I was a late bloomer for puberty, etc, but I guess I did grow up on the farm, and I was a lot stronger than I thought. In this moment I had this god of war spartan rage moment and threw the kids off me and proceeded to fight all 5 of them It was like a bad kung fu movie because they all got scared and ran away so I could catch up and trip them one at a time onto the concrete(I was easily the fastest kid at my school) After we were all rounded up and sitting in the principal's office (Keep in mind this is like 1998) the guy totally has my back despite the fact that they're all in there bruised and scraped up. He says, 'You know if you corner a rat in a barn long enough It'll scratch your face off' Gives me no punishment, and suspends all 5 of them.

I've not had a single physical altercation of any kind since that day. I'm 32 now.
