Riot police in Portland shooting at anti trump rioters

Well, I don't totally know what the objective of these protests/riots are, I'd be a bit shocked if a majority of those involved believed that you could overturn election results by protesting.

But I will say that this one, by the account of this video at least, deserves to be recognized as what it was and how it was different from other videos such as last night's; this actually was a protest, not a riot.

I'm unsure what the goal is or if it's just some sort of try at a message of solidarity or something, one sign that was prominent at times throughout it said "FUCK HIM" on one side and "FUCK HER" on the other, so I'm not really sure what the message or goal is.

But regardless of the message or the goal, the distinction between a riot and a protest is an important one and this is a video of a protest. Aside from the ambiguity of its purpose, I'm almost impressed in a way, just because they actually maintained quite a large crowd and we all know there will be people in those crowds who are agitators or agent provocateurs, or people who only showed up hoping to riot, and at times during this it seemed like many of the protestors were trying to stay vigilant of those people within their crowd.

People said at different times during the video something like "oh six people were arrested down that street" or "twenty people were arrested a block away" but there weren't any visible arrests within the crowd this video followed and even with the flashbangs and tear gas and upclose confrontations with the riot police, they still seemed to put an effort on peaceful chants for the most part and the police ended up... leaving. Without anything actually crazy happening.

I don't know what the aim is but I do say credit where credit is due on this video. This wasn't a riot, this was a protest, whatever its point.
