State Dept inspector general expected to have 'urgent' Ukraine briefing on Hill

Everyone keeps talking about how bad it is for Barr, Pompeo, and Trump, but all I can think about is the last 3 years and the lack of accountability I've seen so far. I'm still worried nothing will really come of this. House will vote to impeach citing the blatant obstruction of justice preventing them from gathering evidence (exactly what happened to Mueller, look where that got us), senate will not convict while screeching a few words about Biden's corruption, witch hunts, and buttery males, and that will be the end of it. His base will get amped up for their Victim in Chief as he takes away their food stamps and people with more than half a working brain will continue to live in existential dread of what just happened and what it means for democracy.

I really hope I'm wrong. Our only hope to get actual evidence is congress growing a set of balls and use the Sargent at Arms to hold people in contempt to force testimony, or for whistle blowers/leakers to supply actual evidence beyond 2nd hand reports.
