Taiwan president condemns violence against free speech after multiple incidents of Chinese students in Taiwan attacking Hong Kong students & tearing down pro-democracy posters in universities

Yeah but violence seems kinda extreme. Like I feel like there are definitely independent actors here but I think at least a portion of them are connected to the government. It seems like a very CCP move. They hire people to spread propaganda in online forums; it’s not too outlandish that they would send people to do it irl.

Especially here in Taiwan, where the Hong Kong situation is really scaring everyone. We’re just a short boat trip away from them. A lot of my colleagues and friends here have been telling me that they’re really scared, and with good reason. Like yea, there are probably independent actors here, but it feels like the CCP’s invisible hand is gently pushing some of them forward.
