Thomas Jefferson ladies and gentlemen

Mass shootings are not done impulsively.

No they aren't. I'm talking about every other type of gun violence that happens all the time. There have been 140 (?) school shootings since Sandy Hook. Our gun murder rates and gun suicide rates are embarrassing, or at least they should be.

I'm not talking specifically about mass shootings, I'm talking about all the other gun violence that we have in our society right now. How would those registration ideas solve the problem? No idea. They probably wouldn't. There would still be an ocean of guns out there. We should just do a buy back program instead.

Whether or not you choose to debate me is not something I care about. In my mind the debate is over. The gun manufacturers and the gun lobby have won, and Americans have decided that no price is too high for gun enthusiasts to feel comfortable about some abstract possible future.

I love my country every bit as much as any American, but the fact that this goes on and people such as yourself treat it in such a completely selfish and self-serving way, exemplifies to me very clearly how far we've fallen and how little we care about each other. Literally nothing can be done because the organizations with a vested interest in keeping the population scared and buying bullets have a vice-like grip on politics. Because of this issue, and this issue alone, I would trade my citizenship for a dime. Not because I don't want to live around guns, but because I don't want to live in a place where people weigh their little narrow self interests more valuable than trying to solve such a problem. It's pathetic.

I don't give a fuck if you respond, I don't think anything you have to say is worthwhile, or new, or interesting.
