I grew up very close to extreme eating disorders. These things are no joke. Or well as much as a joke expecting someone very close to you die, or lose their feet because of diabetes complications, again.

Being morbidly obese is a habitual disease and addiction just like alcohol and drugs, and can destroy your life. And we should treat it that way in my opinion, giving people help and information rather than the usual "pull yourself up by the bootstraps".

I think we can have empathy for people who struggle and still be honest with ourselves that addiction isn't sexy, empowering or great.
