Transitioning into Sales - how?!

Thanks!

Lower base pay is also a hindrance. I'm trying to move into sales in my current position. Let's see how that works. Thankfully, we have a great career development office in our company. Ideally, I want that to work out.

BTW, any comments on the pitch i wrote earlier? I wanted to make it more crisp and come directly to the point.

Pasting here again for convenience:

Finance Sales Job pitch:

  • Implemented IT solutions for OFAC screening because of which I had to understand end-to-end business processes for different verticals like FX transactions, IATs and USD Wires
  • Detailed understanding of lifecycle of an FX transaction right from its initiation using SWIFT messages, to being screened for BSA/AML Compliance to being sent to Correspondent Bank to the Recipient Bank (for outgoing FX transaction; worked on Incoming transactions as well)
  • Because of my strong communication and persuasion skills, knowledge of core-banking, BSA/AML/OFAC regulatory issues, and technology, I instinctively feel I can perform better in front of the Client in Sales / Business Development

Overall pitch:

  • Extensive experience working directly with clients from diverse industries (Banking, Biotech and US State Governments)
  • Excellent track record and success in implementing and documenting requirements for complex IT solutions for over eleven years
  • Experience working in an International business environment (India, Australia, Spain and USA) involving global Information Technology teams
  • Because of my strong communication and persuasion skills, knowledge of core-banking, BSA/AML/OFAC regulatory issues, and technology, I intuitively feel I can perform better in front of the Client in Sales / Business Development
