haha chill dude, you are showing your colorado. It is a yuppy town and they have the same tribal xenophobia you can expect diving through anyone of the shit holes in Texas. They are getting pushed away by people from out of state and it frightens them to see "native lands" lost to transplants as if they were the people that cut into the mountains 10k years ago.

Give it another generation and those types of people will have all migrated to some other paradise where they can be xenophobes free from the cursed alien. They can't even afford to buy houses here and the companies that can pay the living wage hire from out of state for some reason.

I will say though the actual interactions I have with them are generally fairly normal once you get used lack of humor.
