UK school bans shoulder-baring tops, accused of ‘sexualising girls’ | The Indian Express

Islam and Catholicism encourage people to act pretty much the same way. Both have rules for very similar things; no birth control or abortion, high value of virgin women and no value for non-virgin women, allow the husband to"discipline" the wife, hate gay people, think that the religion should enforce public policy, etc. Both have even had their own crusades, encouraged slavery and colonization, and the IRA and ISIS are perhaps the two best known terrorist groups in most of the western world. Both even believe in male genital mutilation, and although Islam also believes in female genital mutilation, I have little doubt that Catholicism would get there soon enough if you told every preacher that it reduced sexual desire and removed the laws against it in the US and Europe.

Both also have a "peaceful" majority who keep the whole thing looking sane by disagreeing with the literal interpretation of the holy book and adhering more to modern morality than the old rulebook. Very few Catholics or Muslims actually want to stone gay people, for example. However, even the this "peaceful" majority usually holds damaging beliefs that infringe on other's rights, so it's strange to me that nobody really questions them in their beliefs, instead just operating under the assumption that "moderate" means "good" instead of "moderately insane." I've met moderate Catholic guys who nonchalantly mention that women are getting uppity. I've met moderate Muslim guys at college who nonchalantly mention that non-believers should face a short prison sentence.

This doesn't have much relation to the post you were answering, I just think it's weird how Catholics are busy trying to prevent Muslims from entering the country, when in reality it may be their best hope to see the policies they want actually get support. Maybe it's only good when they do it themselves.
